The Reference department is located on the library’s main floor and provides directional and informational assistance to library patrons. On average, over 50,000 reference inquiries are addressed by the Adult Services department each year.

Reference Collections
The library’s reference collection provides visitors a well-rounded, up-to-date collection of recommended and standard reference works. Books in the collection do not circulate.

The serial collection is composed of 192 magazine subscriptions and 31 local, state, and national newspapers. Microfilm editions of some periodicals titles, including the Meridian Star dating back to 1898, are available for patron use.

Magnolia Database
MAGNOLIA provides students and researchers in the state access to reliable, academic peer-reviewed journals and curated age-appropriate content which are not available through public searches.

Internet Access:
The library currently houses seventeen (17) public access computers with Internet access. To use these computers patrons must have valid Meridian-Lauderdale County Public Library card.
The library also offers connection to the Internet from a WiFi hotspot.
